The people behind the policies.
Privacy work crosses disciplines. Its culture should have room for the people carrying the responsibility.
What is established.
IAPP’s new AI Governance Skills Framework describes work distributed across multiple roles and functions, with overlapping responsibilities among product, legal, engineering and policy teams. It seeks a shared language for the workforce rather than treating AI governance as a single job.
Where we stand.
Our interpretation: a professional identity can extend beyond credentials and job titles. PrivacyAF’s role is to make the work discussable, its questions usable and its values visible in everyday life. That means respecting the expertise already in the field, linking to it and contributing an independent point of view.
Ask the next question.
- Where does privacy responsibility sit in your team’s actual workflow?
- Which decisions have an accountable owner, and which fall between functions?
- What useful question could you bring to your next meeting?
- How do you make the people doing careful, invisible work feel recognized?
